Robin Van Persie Is Called “A P****” By Arsenal Fan On Sky’s ‘A League Of Their Own’

Former Manchester United and Arsenal striker Robin van Persie appeared on popular Sky One TV show ‘A League Of Their Own’ this week and it quickly turned awkward.

The 36-year-old, who recently became a pundit for BT Sport, joined former WBC cruiserweight champion Tony Bellew and comedian Romesh Ranganathan on the episode hosted by actor and presenter James Cordon.

It was all going smoothly for van Persie until Ranganathan, a huge Arsenal fan, gave his brutally honest thoughts on his fellow guest.

Cordon asked the comedian whether he was “excited” by being on the same show as “one of Manchester United’s greatest ever strikers.”

Then, in a quite awkward series of events, Ranganathan says: “You’re a pr*** mate” before the audience burst into laughter.

Van Persie gave a polite smile but you can just sense the situation was a little uncomfortable for the former Arsenal striker, who spent eight successful years under Arsene Wenger before leaving in 2012.

The Dutchman went on to win his first Premier League title in his first season at Old Trafford, scoring 31 goals in all competitions.

As we mentioned earlier, Robin van Persie has become the latest former player to join BT Sports as a pundit for the Premier League 2019/20 season.

The Dutch striker, who hasn’t been shy about his opinions, has agreed a contract with the Premier League and Champions League broadcaster and will be in the studio for English and European games.

Van Persie could well find himself appearing on Thursday night’s considering his two former Premier League sides will both be playing in the Europa League next season.
