Even at the age of 41, former AC Milan goalkeeper Dida was pulling off some of the most incredible saves towards the end of his career at Brazilian side Internacional.
Dida, who was arguably one of the best goalkeepers in world football at the peak of his powers, shows his almost machine-like athleticism in this grueling session at the Brasiliero Serie A side’s training ground.
The fact that he manages to get up after each save and produce another outrageous stop is quite unbelievable.
Dida enjoyed a highly successful spell during his time at the San Siro, but the fact that Milan didn’t win the Champions League in 2005 is a bit of a crime against football.
Of course they were stopped by Liverpool’s amazing comeback in Istanbul, so it’s difficult to hold it against the footballing gods.
But Milan were something special. The names speak for themselves; Dida, Cafu, Paolo Maldini, Alessandro Nesta, Jaap Stam, Massimo Ambrosini, Gennaro Gattuso, Kaka. Andrea Pirlo, Clarence Seedorf, Hernan Crespo, Filippo Inzaghi, Andriy Shevchenko and Rui Costa.
Now, the 44-year-old is with Pyramids FC, helping first team goalkeepers through extra coaching sessions.
Yes, he was close to joining Blackpool, but the bloke was incredible at his peak.
