UFC president Dana White was far from happy with Khabib Nurmagomedov after he jumped the cage and attacked Conor McGregor’s trainer, Dillion Danis.
Seconds after the incident, three people from Khabib’s team were arrested after a further attack.
McGregor decided against pressing charges, partially because of his involvement in the incident, but at the time, White was furious.
He approached Khabib moments later and refused to give him the lightweight title, saying: “If I put this belt on you, people will lose their shit and start throwing stuff in The Octagon.
“Other people will get hurt.”
Now, five days after the fight, White looks to have settled down about the incident. He posted the following image on Instagram, a viral meme of a bear saying: “Excuse me Mrs Nurmagomedov, can Khabib come out to play?”
One Instagram user decide to question Dana about the picture and well, he didn’t respond well.
Days after the fight, the UFC president revealed it wasn’t him or the company the Khabib had to worry about when it came to discipline – but the Nevada Athletic Commission saying:
“The Nevada State Athletic Commission is going to go after him pretty hard. He doesn’t have to worry about me, he has to worry about them.
“The Governor was here tonight and he went running out of the building. He’s in big trouble.”
So what will Khabib receive as punishment?
In an exclusive interview with TMZSports, White thinks the fighter should get a $250,000 fine and a hefty suspension.
“They took his whole purse right now and they’re talking about keeping his purse – I do not think that that should happen,” White told TMZ Sports.
“You should not be able to keep his whole purse.”
What is certain is that Khabib will not be stripped of his lightweight championship.
