Verdens Gang might love Ole Gunnar Solskjær more than Manchester United fans.
No, seriously. The Norwegian tabloid newspaper, which is the biggest online newspaper in the country, has dedicated its entire front page to the United caretaker boss.
In fact, VG has used the same photo of Solskjær 53 times and accompanied it with a simple enough headline: “53 days with smiles.”
It’s brilliant! Check it out below.
The 45-year-old former United forward has turned around the club’s season since his arrival at Old Trafford in December.
The United boss has not lost a match in the dugout yet and helped his side climb back into the top four, which former Red Devils boss José Mourinho claimed would take a “miracle” to achieve.
Solskjær was awarded Premier League Manager of the Month in January and became the first United boss to win it since Sir Alex Ferguson.
Paul Pogba, who has been in brilliant form under Solskjær, praised the impact of the Norwegian in the short time that he has been caretaker boss.
“Before the coach arrived, I was in the shadows, on the bench, and I accepted that,” he said. “It is a pleasure to play again. Now I am always smiling.
“It’s a pleasure to be reunited with him. I knew him from the academy and the reserves when his nickname was ‘Supersub.’
“He is doing a really good job. As a player, he knew the mentality of this club. He has come back to help us and it is going very well.”
Of course, the World Cup-winning Frenchman isn’t the only one backing Solskjær at United.
Ahead of the club’s highly anticipated first-leg clash with Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League, Anthony Martial said he was hopeful for Solskjær to be appointed the next permanent manager at United.
“Well, obviously things are going really well, we are really happy,” he said.
“I hope we can keep him, but it is not down to us.”
Should Solskjær be appointed the next permanent manager?
