2019/20 Premier League Fixtures Announced

Manchester United will host Chelsea in the standout clash on the opening weekend of the Premier League season.

The 2019-20 fixtures were announced this morning with the new campaign beginning at Anfield on Friday, August 9 when runners-up Liverpool host Norwich.

Champions Man City face a lunchtime visit to West Ham on Saturday, August 10 before Chelsea’s trip to Old Trafford the following day.

The other newly promoted sides certainly also have intriguing games, with Sheffield United facing Bournemouth away and play-off winners Aston Villa hosting Spurs.

All six of the top six will be on television in the opening round of games with Arsenal kicking off the first Super Sunday at home to Newcastle United.

After last season’s close title race all eyes will be on City and Liverpool again and the pair first face at Anfield on the weekend of November 9th, with the reverse fixture in Manchester the weekend on April 4th.

Fans in north London won’t have to wait too long for their first derby with Arsenal playing Spurs at the Emirates on the weekend of August 31st.

The Tottenham Hotspurs Stadium hosts its first north London derby with just four weeks left of the season on the weekend of April 25th.

City’s Etihad will be the location of the first Manchester derby of the season on the weekend of December 7th, with the two sides meeting at Old Trafford on the weekend of March 7th.

Christmas will once again be the busiest time of the year and for the first time the Boxing Day fixtures will be on Amazon. That day could throw a repeat of Newcastle United’s 4-3 loss to Manchester United from 2012, which was a topsy turvy classic:

Can City become just the second club to win three Premier League titles in a row or will someone be able to stop them?
